Therapeutic Approaches

  • Internal Family Systems

IFS is a form of therapy that focuses on a client’s internal “parts” and “Self.” It helps to access “Self” so that they can heal wounded “parts” and bring their minds to balance.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a trauma therapy model that uses eye movements or rhythmic tapping to change the way a memory is stored in the brain, allowing you to process it. The goal is to help you work through painful memories with your body’s natural functions to recover from the effects of trauma.

  • Person-Centered Therapy

A client-based therapy that employs a “non-authoritative” approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in sessions such that, in the process, they discover their own solutions.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

An action-oriented approach that helps clients to learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with inner emotions and instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations that should not prevent them from moving forward in their lives.

Meanings are not determined by situations, but we determine ourselves by the meanings we give to situations.
